My first year of Syncing Christmas Lights with Music. I bought a Light-o-Rama 32-Channel controller starter pack (2x 1602W) and lights from wherever I could scrounge them up. I also bought an EDM FM transmitter for broadcasting the music. I got it a bit late in the year and put together a rather pitiful show – but it was unlike the vast majority of others around my neighborhood.
2009
I greatly expanded thing in my second year. My skill as an electrical engineer went to full use this year. I put together quite a collection of props including a Mega-Tree (really only Mid-Mega…), Arches and a Window frame among others. I built quite a bit of the electronics that went into driving the props. It was also the first year that I got Prosumer rated LEDs for the Window frames.
